Tom Poland

Welcome, everyone to another edition of marketing the invisible. My name is Tom Poland beaming out to you from Little Castaways beach in Queensland, Australia. Joined today by Snowden McFall.

Snowden gets a very warm welcome.

Where are you hanging out?

Snowden Mcfall 0:13
St. Augustine, Florida, is the oldest city in the United States.

Tom Poland 0:17
Holy Dooley, who knew that? Well, now I do. t. Thank you for keeping my brain alive for the new fact.

Snowden Mcfall 0:25
Yeah, we celebrated our 400 and 500th A few years ago.

Tom Poland 0:29
That’s amazing. Yeah. So for those of you who don’t know, Snowden, in addition to being clearly an investable source of knowledge. She is, as I said earlier, always consummately professional. She’s a 25-year professional speaker, six-time author, and a specialty coach for women.

She’s the National woman in business Advocate of the Year. This is pretty impressive stuff. She’s really fired up about helping women speak confidently, and to be more profitable. And that brings us nicely to the subject of this little interview, which is how to claim the power of your voice, keywords, ‘the power of your voice’, and make more money, and Snowden is going to share with us how to do that in just seven minutes.

But status now Snowden, Chris, number one, who is your ideal client,

Snowden Mcfall 1:17
Women, business owners, and professional women, I ignite greatness and achievers.

Tom Poland1:23
Inspirational just listening to that, actually, question number two, what’s the problem is over them?

Snowden Mcfall 1:30
A lot of women don’t claim the power of their voice. They don’t speak confidently, and they, therefore, limit their income earning potential.

Tom Poland1:40
And to me, folks, I just want you to kind of replay that, can you say it again? In fact, a lot of people don’t claim the power of the voice. And in doing so…

Tom Poland 1:50
They don’t speak confidently and they limit their earning potential.

Tom Poland 1:54
Because there’s to me, there’s a clear and direct line between those two things, the claiming of the voice, the speaking confidently and the earning potential. Thank you for that.

So questions, three, six minutes left. What are some of the typical symptoms that someone listening to this would be able to check off and go, ‘Oh, my golly, that’s me? I have that problem. I need the solution.’

Snowden Mcfall 2:15
They’re nervous when they’re presenting. They’re not prepared or they’re very tight, keep their voice very soft, or they look down at they undercharged for their services, and they’re always worried about money.

Tom Poland 2:28
Do you find that sometimes apologizing too often?

Snowden Mcfall 2:19
Yes, absolutely.

Tom Poland 2:35
A curveball question? Do you notice that there’s a difference when they’re in a small group or one on one versus on a stage? Is there? Or do you find this?

Snowden Mcfall 2:41
Yes, typically, people are pretty comfortable in a small group, although some people, some women are terrified no matter what. But small groups are more comfortable for most people.

Tom Poland 2:49
But small group or large audience you could help them with either. So let’s, so let’s look at and then we’re talking about women who want to get ahead women who are aware of things like personal development, spiritual development, business development, and so on.

So they’re going to be trying things is what I’m getting to five minutes left, what are some of the common mistakes that you see women making when they’re trying to solve this problem, and you could share maybe a couple of things that they could avoid.

Snowden Mcfall 3:20
When they’re speaking, they have a tendency to memorize a script or read a script. And that’s a kiss of death. You don’t want to ever do that.

Yeah, you want to have key points that you speak off of.

And as far as financially, all too often, what I see is that women don’t ask, they don’t ask for raises.

They don’t ask to be paid more when they’re promoting their own businesses, they give their services away,

Tom Poland 3:44
Right? Thank you.

Lots of mistakes, avoid them, folks, four and a half minutes left, one valuable free action that someone listening to this can take, may not solve the whole problem, but it might take them a step down the road in the right direction.

Tom Poland 3:58
Well, the first one is to say ‘No’ to giving your services away for free, you know, don’t do it.

You have value to offer and stop giving your services away for free and don’t discount yourself for anybody.

And then from a voice standpoint, vocal variety, your enthusiasm, and your voice make such a difference in terms of engaging your audience.

So pick up those children’s books and read those stories and practice with that. It will change your intonation.

Tom Poland 4:30
What a great tip just read kids’ books. And folks just to quote someone else. the word ‘no’ can be a complete sentence.

Question number six, we’ve got three and a half minutes left. What I’m after here is one valuable free resource where can we direct folks to who are aware that they have this problem?

So I think we might have made some of those mistakes in but how can they move forward with this?

Where can they go to find out more?

Snowden Mcfall 4:57
Well, you know, Tom, I’m so committed to this I also do a free webinar once a month, where I give women tips and tools, they can apply immediately to be more confident, to claim their voice, and to make some more money. So that’s where they can go, they go to https://firedupnow.com/voice-and-money/

Tom Poland 5:19

Question number seven the last question two and a half minutes left. What is the one question I should have asked you but didn’t?

Snowden Mcfall 5:42
Why do I do this work?

Tom Poland 5:44
Why do you do this work? Because I know you’re incredibly busy building a new house and everything else.

Snowden Mcfall 5:50
Because I’m so passionate about women.

I believe women are the future of the planet, Tom, with all due respect to you and all the other wonderful men.

Yeah, with our emotional intelligence, our willingness to compromise, our willingness to come together and make decisions for the highest good of all, I believe women are the future of the planet and 3 million women left the workplace during COVID. 3 million.

That’s going to take until 2024 to regain that. Several of these women did start their own businesses, which I think is great, but they need help moving forward claiming their voice asking for enough money, and positioning and pricing themselves well.

When women are prosperous, they use their money to better others, they educate their children, they lift their community so I really believe that women are the future of the planet and I want to help as many women as possible thrive.

Several of my clients have doubled their income. I’d love to see more women do that and be even more successful because I know they’ll make a difference on the planet overall.

Tom Poland 6:53
Couldn’t agree more. I men have been in charge for 6000 years and we haven’t done such a good job of it. So I think you guys, you should have it for the next 6000 more compassion, more cooperation. All right. Lovely. Then pleasure speaking with you again.

Thank you, Snowden.

Snowden Mcfall 7:08
